Summer Athlete Performance Enhancement Program
Students Who Stay Active Stay Ahead of the Game.

Marathon’s comprehensive youth exercise programs are designed by Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Specialists, and Health & Wellness Instructors. Our goal is to raise awareness and education for injury reduction and enhancement of athletic performance.

Our programs highlight how playing safe and smart can enhance and extend a child’s athletic career, improve teamwork, reduce obesity and create a lifelong love of exercise and healthy activities.

Program Details

Assessment

On the initial day of training, each athlete will participate in a Functional Movement Screen. The Functional Movement Screen is used to assess:

  • Faulty movement patterns
  • Mobility restrictions
  • Stability/Balance deficits
  • Risk for potential injury

Results allow for:

  • Implementing corrective exercise strategies
  • Program design specific to individual needs
  • Stability/Balance deficits
  • Decreased risk of injury during training and sport

Strength Training

Utilizing on site training facilities, each athlete will be instructed and progressed through a variety of sport related exercises designed to maximize the athlete’s strength, power, flexibility, and balance. Exercises will include:

  • Body Weight Training
  • Free Weights
  • Kettle Bells
  • Medicine Ball
  • Battle Ropes
  • Suspension Training (TRX)

Results allow for:

  • Implementing corrective exercise strategies
  • Program design specific to individual needs
  • Stability/Balance deficits
  • Decreased risk of injury during training and sport

Track & Field

Athletes are also put through drills on the field utilizing a variety of training modalities coupled with sound coaching and appropriate training progressions, each athlete will improve:

  • Explosiveness
  • Speed
  • Agility
  • Quickness

In-Season Coaching

Marathon offers year-round In-Season Strength & Conditioning Coaching. Our Certified Strength Coaches work with your athletes onsite in your school’s weight room. Strength Coaches will supervise structured workouts, maintain the integrity of the facilities, and manage the schedule of teams utilizing the space. Strength Coaches will also work as part of the Sports Medicine Team communicating with Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Coaches, and Parents.
